The show came down today (December 7, 2008) and I consider it was a success. I’ve scheduled another show for June at the coffee shop. It’s exciting and nerve-wracking to think of another show, but I look forward to the time in the studio.

Well, after months of getting ready, my first batik show in ten years went up Friday at the Coffee Garden. There was no official opening reception during Second Saturday, but a group of my friends showed up to support me. I’d like to thank them— Bee, Colin, Christina (and her friend John), Julie, Keith, Megan, and Guphy for showing up at the CG tonight. Special thank you to Tony who drove in from the east bay.

Later in the evening, Michael (owner of CG) called to tell me that small Ohio leaves batik sold. I found out today, Thea and Randy from the dog park bought the piece!!

Here are pictures—they aren’t the best; I’ll attempt to get better ones soon. If you’re in the Sacramento area, the show will be up until December 1, 2008.

The Coffee Garden is located at  2904 Franklin Blvd. (4th and Franklin Blvd), Sacramento, CA 95818. It’s a dog friendly venue and my favorite neighborhood hangout. They serve a variety of foods including soups, sandwiches, and of course, great coffee drinks!
